SQE Full-time

Hello!

I am wondering if anyone is/ has been in the situation where you are working full-time and then receive a TC offer (where the firm is sponsoring the SQE preparation courses (full-time) and providing a living allowance)? If so, I am wondering if you can share any advice on how you made up the difference between the living allowance and a full-time salary? I am struggling to see how this is manageable with a rent contract/bills/cost of living etc. and would be so grateful for any insights!

To add more detail, the firm have an arrangement where trainees do a full-time course and I already have a master's so I can't apply for student funding.

Do you need your undergrad materials for the SQE? I recently lost all of my undergrad notes due to an issue with my computer and now have nothing from my 3 years and I am quite worried about this.

It is not easy. Some people have parents in London or commutable distance to London such as in Kent, Cambridge etc so can live at home rent free. Others can share a room or flat even if quite far out of London in a very cheap area. Near me out here in zone 5 - outer London - a room is about £800 a month although I appreciate even that is quite expensive once you add food and tube fares on top. You may not have to go into the course every day so that will keep tube costs down. Good luck. I suppose some people might have a weekend job in a bar or shop to help too.
