When was your Travers Smith interview? February 2018 What was it for? Training Contract Please describe the interview process at Travers Smith. There were two interviews. The first was offered over Skype because I am an international candidate. It was with one partner, and had a very relaxed feel. Probably one of my favourite interviews over the entire process. We discussed why I wanted to practice law in the UK, why law in general, what did I feel were the negatives of a law career, what company would I like to be the CEO of and why. The second interview was with two partners in their office. It began by going over my CV, then getting into more technical questions about the different practice areas and the advice I would give to clients if I were a lawyer in those practice areas. Then we discussed the ethics of giving monetary incentives to people with addictions. Finally we went over any questions I had about the training contract or the firm. What advice would you give to future applicants about the Travers Smith interview? Travers Smith:

First interview: expect the unexpected! be ready to roll with any moral / ethical / philosophical question they give you
Second interview: don't expect it to be like the first. much more traditional in terms of expecting you to have a high degree of knowledge about the practice areas and well thought out answers to "why law" and "why travers smith"
