Pitch a prospective client for the London office of V&E and explain why they would be a good target client for the Firm. </p><p></p><p>5 minutes: Questions on my presentation and why I had chosen that topic</p><p></p><p>10 minutes: General questions from the partners on my CV and application, why law, why I would make a good lawyer, started with a quick 'tell me about yourself' type refresher about my application</p><p></p><p>10 minutes: For me to ask questions</p><p></p><p><strong>What is your best advice for each aspect of the assessment on the day? Please break this down for each assessment. This can include advice for preparation, as well as tips for the day.</strong></p><p>Presentation:</p><p>– It's a hard 5 minutes and if you don't finish your presentation you will be cut off so make sure you practice it a lot and keep it under the 5 minute mark</p><p>– Explicitly relate it to the firm (I did my presentation on the BEPS 2.0 framework and linked it to the firm's Africa, Oil/Gas Practices and PE practices and how I expected the changes to impact the firm because one of the partners was in PE)</p><p>– Explain why you chose the topic and why you personally find it interesting concisely</p><p></p><p>Questions:</p><p>– Questions were general about my experience and mainly came from the most senior partner</p><p>– In my interview, the other partner and grad rec seemed ~disinterested so don't let that throw you off because they're just observing – know your application as always</p><p>– Have a lot of questions prepared! My interview ended 5 minutes early because I ran out of questions but also think very carefully about the questions you ask because in my feedback grad rec told me that was one of the reasons they didn't think I would 'fit'.</p><p></p><p><strong>Were you successful?</strong></p><p>No</p></blockquote><p></p>
