However, it may be a specific intake throughout the year that is available - for example, only the winter vacation scheme might be open to graduates, as opposed to spring and summer. This is completely dependent on the specific firm, so it's worth checking each scheme's eligibility criteria on the firm's Careers page. As someone who secured a TC through a vacation scheme that I completed as a graduate, I would definitely recommend applying for both vacation schemes (where they are available) and training contracts. One of the main reasons for this is to maximise your chances - most firms hire primarily through their vacation schemes, or even through vacation schemes only. Additionally, a vacation scheme is a great way to get to know the firm in detail and get additional work experience.
