Yep, applications stay at ‘on hold’ on the portal until they decide whether to invite you to AC or not. If it helps, I was fast-tracked to AC for the summer VS after attending an open day and only got an invite on Monday, so I’d guess that means they’ve only just started to look through the summer applications.
