hey guys, I’m kind of stuck with one of my TC questions and I don’t know how to respond to it.

The question is:

What was the reasoning for choosing your honours subjects?

I studied international trade, international law, legal practice and business strategy and sustainable development.

That’s your degree title?

If a friend asked you why you picked your degree, what would you say?

I've only ever answered these kinds of questions at interview stage (why did you choose X elective module?). I would usually explain:
  1. How or when I got interested in the subject;
  2. What was the most interesting thing I learnt in that subject; and
  3. (If applicable) How I hoped to apply that subject in the future (eg through a training contract seat)
I wouldn't worry too much about the third point if its not possible to explain it for some modules. Lots of my module choices weren't really relevant to a career in commercial law (eg human rights, advanced constitutional law). I think its generally fine to have had broad academic interests so long as you can clearly articulate why you chose to move towards commercial law anyway.

Hope that helps!
