Hey @flower,I'm practising an answer for 'why X firm?', and to mirror the typical format of VIs I've given myself a 1 minute limit. I'm honestly finding it so difficult to talk about a range of factors because of the time constraints, and I can literally only discuss one factor (a particular practice area) without coming across like I'm going through a shopping list. I'm weary that only discussing 1 factor may come across as not having researched the firm in enough depth, does anyone have any advice regarding this?
I understand the difficulty as this was one of my concerns when I was applying. However, what I found out is that saying a bunch of different facts about the firm is not necessarily knowing a lot about the firm. Talking to some graduate recruitment made me realise how video interviews are just a chance for you to highlight what, about the firm, appeals to you and resonates with the person that you are.
I would not stress about mentioning everything you know about the firm, but I would focus on mentioning 2 reasons why the firms distinguishes itself from its competitors and why those are important or interesting to you specifically.
I hope this is helpful and good luck with the application process!
