Hi! I'm not sure who else has applied but I thought I'd start a thread for Burges Salmon just in case. How did everyone find the application?

I don’t remember there being a choice. I thought it was just 2020 summer vacation scheme?

I'm thinking about applying for the direct TC - what did everyone think were challenges for them being an independent law firm?

Vacation schemes will take place on the following dates:

Yeah there was the option of Spring - it was on the application section.

Spring:

14-24 April 2020 (first day of the scheme is a Tuesday due to Easter bank holiday)

Summer:

8-19 June 2020

22 June 2020- 3 July 2020

I'm thinking about applying for the direct TC - what did everyone think were challenges for them being an independent law firm?

I actually found this quite tricky but I talked along the lines of:

• Competitors merging/acquiring other firms creating stronger competition in a particular sector (perhaps).
• Recruiting talent i.e. trainees or lateral hires in terms work offered and remuneration.
• IT infrastructure/tech offering and depth of resources.
