why does the covington application ask us to invent a new technology do i look like steve jobs :(

when firms ask 'creative questions' like this, i find it slightly patronising, because at the end of the day i feel like they don't really care and assessing these are subjective. it's like that withers question about childhood toys. just give me a job please:rolleyes:
The Covington question is sooo annoying. But I’m gonna have to do it since I actually like the firm 🙄

Any guidance for this question please? ‘what is your understanding of how a business generates and maintains a profit?' Thank you!
i would consider the practical ways in which a business can increase its revenue without necessarily just increasing costs, or how it reduces costs without reducing revenue.

Provide practical examples (innovation, diversification of service/products, technology to increase productivity etc) and maybe even use examples of how specific businesses have done that.
