I don’t know why you are getting so defensive. The question you asked isn’t something that anyone on here can even answer.

Like I said, from the tone of your original post, it just sounded like you were being a bit deceitful.

I would recommend asking your support worker whether this is something you think will help you. As this will depend more on your personal circumstances. Just because someone else was “successful in getting the questions in advance” doesn’t necessarily mean you will.

I did their test 4.12.24, so was nervous the email was a PFO as ik some people got holding emails or progressed to AC

I did the test in early September, think they are just going through the applications still

All adjustments that someone requires are clearly stated in a support plan or needs based report. The OP should just refer to what is in there and let grad rec know.

I don’t think it’s right to assume based on tone of a post whether someone is trying to seek extra adjustments that they may or may not be entitled to.

If grad rec reached out to them, surely it must have been included in their original application. I don’t think there was a need to assume they were self diagnosing neurodivergence either.

There were adjustments I had in school that do not bare relevance anymore. Similarly, having gone through this application cycle, I have requested adjustments I didn’t need before, such as around interview formats.

Ultimately each person is different and has their own needs around reasonable adjustments. It’s not our place to assume that someone is being deceitful.​

Hi, grad rec have reached out and asked about reasonable adjustments for AC.

Apart from extra time - does anyone know what adjustments I can get for being neurodiverse?

Has anyone ever been successful in getting the interview questions in advance?

I don’t think you could get questions in advance solely because often they aren’t all prepared in advance - sometimes partners will ask follow up questions based on the answers you give them.

However, I think you can get the questions in a written format that you can read during interviews.

You can normally request private rooms for preparation e.g., when there is a case study involved.

I think you get given breaks in between each of the AC components and extra time for each.

I also think it’s common to do tasks on an iPad or laptop as opposed to paper.​

Guys, this is not what this forum is for!!! What is the point in disputing about a possible misunderstanding- when all someone asked for is some advice, because MAYBE they wanted to be sure of something before asking Grad recruitment- there is NOTHING wrong with this, and we should encourage everyone to ask questions!!!

I was under the impression they were seeking clarity over reasonable adjustments. Perhaps they wanted to be sure of what can be deemed reasonable adjustments by asking people on the forum about their experience.

There is NOTHING wrong with seeking guidance about reasonable adjustments.

I don’t want this to turn into a dispute. This may just be a simple misunderstanding. 🙂​

I think the difference between the example you mentioned and the reality of being neurodivergent/dealing with a health condition is that there can be a whole bunch of different reasonable adjustments based on the circumstances. For example, at university, I ended up getting different reasonable adjustments in comparison to what I was given for the SQE. Though there might be reasonable adjustments in common, these may change based on the nature of the tasks you're doing.

Let's just be nice to each other - this process is difficult enough as it is.

I don’t want to turn this into a dispute either. But I don’t want people to be disingenuous and lack integrity either. Especially if they are applying to a profession where they will be bound by a code of conduct…

just got this from Latham's after not hearing if I have progressed for an AC "Due to the volume of applications we received we are still working through reviewing these. We are therefore hoping to provide you with a further update on the status of your application within the end of February."

I just received this email as well. I applied for the Spring VC so end of Feb seems quite tight. Am I safe to assume PFO?

I didn’t copy your post word for word. I can see there are some similarities but that might be because those are the common examples of reasonable adjustments people are offered.

I spoke on the information I received from the graduate recruitment teams when I have asked about reasonable adjustments. 🙂​

Have received VI PFOs from Clyde & Co, DWF, Reed Smith, Baker McKenzie & CMS. So all tips welcome please as I do not know what I am doing wrong.

Coming in on this late 😅 but if you think an adjustment will be helpful, I think it’s worth asking, they can then consider whether or not it is something they can do. I would also consider messaging @Jessica Booker as she may be able to advise based on your specific needs.

I have previously received questions five minutes before the interview once, but it was for a firm with a set list of possible questions (not all the questions on the list were asked).

Most firms don’t have set questions so this is difficult. But as suggested by others they might be able to offer the questions in written form during the interview.

My number one tip would be to be very specific in your answers. Instead of answering generically or repeating what you have already mentioned in your application such as to ‘why the firm’, try and add new reasonings or build on your previous answers with very specific and detailed examples. This has worked well for me currently!

Also don’t worry about structure too much. I know some people say you should start your VI by saying “there are three main reasons…etc” but often the time limit does not allow for this.
