How long does it take for a firm to respond?

have applied to a few firms such as paul, weiss.

gotten a few rejections too, some quicker than others.

Just wondering how long would it usually take for a firm to respond to you once you've applied? I applied to paul, weiss the day before the deadline and I am yet to hear anything and kinda convinced that I will most likely be rejected.

I also had a VI in december with a firm and have not heard back from them since and feel very defeated as, although I have not received a rejection email, Im convinced that I am going to get rejected from the firm.

Does anybody have any advice on this?

Thank you

Unfortunately firms have very different application processes and very different response times so it is hard to generalize. In some cases I got a reply within 10 days of my application/VI, whereas in other cases it took multiple months. For Slaughter and May, for instance, I had to wait around two months to find out I passed the application stage, but I ended up receiving a VS offer. As such, I do not think you can or should read much into a longer response time. However, if I were to try to estimate an average response time based on my experience, I think it would be between 4-6 weeks for the application stage and 3-4 weeks for the VI stage.
