When referring to deals, how recent should they be?

Hi all.
I am doing some research into a firm and I have found something they worked on but it was back in 2021. However, I find it really interesting as it directly relates to a place I visit all the time.
I am just wondering if I should still mention this as an interesting case study, or is there some sort of 'time limit' on how long ago the deal was?

Hello!

I’d still mention it! Unless a firm specifies, there is no real time limit on how recent a deal or case needs to be, especially if it genuinely interests you. Whilst a recent deal is usually best, the important part is that you can write a good answer based on it - which is a lot easier to do if you find it interesting! Additionally, if the work is still relevant (e.g. it has a lasting impact or reflects an area that the firm continues to focus on) it’s completely fine to talk about.

You could just acknowledge the date (e.g. “Although this was back in 2021…”) and then focus on why it stood out to you and what it shows about the firm’s strengths.

I hope that assists, and best of luck with your application! :)

Thanks Abbie that is really helpful :).
I think I will still mention it as it is more of an infrastructure work and is still relevant in that it has an impact on the area it is built and has the possibility for future work.
Thanks again!
