    White & Case Applications 2020/21

If you have graduated, you will likely be asked for an overall score. I believe I did so for W&C. If you haven't graduated yet, I think they would make a rough estimate looking at the grades you submit in your application form, as you will need to provide each module and their respective...

I did the exact thing you are considering and got a TC if that's of any comfort to you! I didn't apply for anything until my final year of uni, but then stopped once I realised my grades weren't as good as I knew they could be, even though they were objectively fine. From my perspective, I...

It would depend on the context of what you are saying. If the London office collaborated and supported the US side on a deal and you're interested in that sort of work, then it could make sense to bring up. If the London office had nothing to do with it, then it would be redundant. More...

I believe that of 50 offers, about 10 go to TCs

    Tired of Rejection

Just came across this video on YT: From 5:28 to 7:30 might be relevant to you: It's really about highlighting your impact rather than the context of your experiences themselves.

    Tired of Rejection

They say its always darkest before the dawn and in my experience it was definitely the case. I had reached the point right before I got my TC where I was tired of the rejection and thought I should take the hint that the career just isn't for me. However, as I was deciding if I wanted to give...

    Flex Legal

I haven't done any work with Flex yet. I didn't hear anything from them from May - October due to the (understandably) low demand. In October I heard from them about two jobs I could apply for but by then I'd secured another job.

    Flex Legal

I did an interview in May 2020 and I wasn't asked any of those questions. I was just asked what I knew about Flex, how I heard about them, and whether I was looking to work part or full time. I may have been asked a few more questions but if so nothing stands out in my mind as having been...

I believe they are referring to the number of lawyers in each location.

I think 'strong 2:1' usually implies a 65 and above, and 'high 2:1' implies 67 and above. Not sure where exactly 'solid' would fall, but I would guess it's around the 65 mark.

Is it possible to get a TC with a low Trusts grade?

Some firms also have policies where they don't like you to apply again until at least a few years afterwards if you reached the interview stage the year before. I believe Macfarlanes and Jones Day are like this, for example.

Just to reiterate what's already been said, I too would recommend avoiding other work as much as possible when doing a virtual vac scheme. I worked until 11pm each night for the ones I did and was shattered each day. The weekend was mainly spent prepping for the interview and assessments and...

How to stay motivated when you keep getting rejected

I was always tempted to say 'this application process' when asked for an example of when we have demonstrated resilience! Nothing will test your determination and positivity like this process will. I can completely empathise, with each rejection I lost a little more confidence and hope for the...

    General Discussion Thread 2020-21

I did my interview two years ago so perhaps it's changed since then but it was one of the most straightforward ones I've experienced. They went through my cover letter and application form and queried some grades and module choices. I don't recall being asked too many competency questions but I...
