@HorsesForCoursesNeighNeighNeigh Thank you for sharing this. I also fall between the *sort of* career changer. I have been out of university for three years and decided to do the GDL (part-time whilst working full time) to give me more flexibility in my field (all senior management had some sort...
I know that HFW do occasionally take direct TC places but this cycle they've filled up a lot of them from VS (having just got one! yay!) but they will only look at direct once they're done with picking from the VSs. So up to you?
Yes, just heard back and it's a rejection folks ! To echo what someone else said, shitty that they don't give feedback after so much time invested.Good luck to everyone else ✊
Has anyone that has applied for the direct training contract heard back about final panel interviews yet? Waiting to hear back after the written test here🤞
I really wouldn't compare - I'm 25 and I'm career-changing from the maritime industry into law - and only going for shipping firms. Also only have done two apps and I have GDL exams coming up so am just hoping one of them bears fruit! If you're really interested in shipping feel free to DM me, I...
I think it's because some people are applying for the insight scheme and others are straight TC (I'm straight-TC for London) - and the final panel interviews take place simultaneously for both insight and straight TC, so the insight schemers have to be allocated first! That's the only thing I...
There was only one slot for my written exercise so they must give out a certain amount of invites for the same day in the following week i.e. tomorrow they will give out invites for the tuesday slot next week - it seems to be staggered so i would say theres still hope :)
Yeah I definitely agree that its been less onerous time wise - I'm career-changing so I still work full time but also do the GDL part-time so feeling pretty stretched! I just was feeling that a 10 minute, CV blind interview wasn't enough for them to make a decision. Now I know there's another...
I didn't apply for the insight scheme. Just the TC - I also saw online somewhere that they recruit basically 50/50 from insight schemes and straight TC apps. So it feels a little odd - especially when I've just gone through a much more thorough process with another firm just for the vac scheme!
I'm having mixed feelings about how my VI just went. I'm also a bit confused about how they can pick someone after 3 questions, WG and written test?? Surely there's more?! Also it seems like everyone has been asked to do all of the stages - havent heard about any PFOs - watch how I get one now...
My interview was meant to be 45 mins and they ended it after 25 and I got the vac scheme. Sometimes they just dont want to waste their own time if they like you!
