Unpacking BP's record profits (against its substantial losses?)!

I unfortunately cannot find the exact article anymore; this is one from August 2021 which is along the same lines: https://news.sky.com/story/revealed-some-of-the-worlds-biggest-oil-companies-are-paying-negative-tax-in-the-uk-12380442 I agree with your point- windfall taxes rely on profits...

    Commercial Awareness Discussion Thread

I'm looking at this now and my initial thoughts: Short term effect - If the Russian office has any open/ongoing work, what happens to it? Employment issues - contracts w/Russian employees (does the firm need to pay them/should they pay them something?), Real Estate issues - what about the...

Unpacking BP's record profits (against its substantial losses?)!

With more frequent discussions, and Sunak no longer saying a firm 'no', it's looking like they're increasingly likely to. I don't think it's the best idea, as it compromises the stability and predictability of our tax system, may jeopardise future investment, and would not fix future issues...

TCLA Direct Training Contract Applications Discussion Thread 2021-22 (#1)

I personally wouldn't wait for the job to officially start to submit applications (especially if they're already drafted). I also personally wouldn't put it in the work experience section until you've actually started. Maybe you can find a way to mention the upcoming job in your app elsewhere...

I think if the question is related to you, you don't always have to show firm research. For example, if it's a competency Q like "when is a time you have worked in a team", I personally would not mention the firm in this answer. I used to be scared of VIs - practice made me soo much better. I...

Unpacking BP's record profits (against its substantial losses?)!

Very interesting to see how what initially may be interpreted as a "poor" quarterly result can actually be seen as a very good result, once mitigating the situation with the Russian energy company shares. On a related topic, given extremely high energy prices right now, we will have to see if a...

Where was your degree from (don't actually tell me, but just a point to consider - if it's from a not as well regarded/not well known foreign uni maybe that impacts things)? Are you post-grad? Then make sure you don't prioritise to firms like Clifford Chance, who prioritise undergrads. I...

Hi Anna! So they mean 11:59 pm on the 7th of January? I thought it was by midnight tonight so this is super helpful if so! Sorry for being repetitive.
