TCLA Vacation Scheme Applications Discussion Thread 2025-26

Guys did you do prose or bullet points for Baker, I can't decide, I know some firms don't like bullet points :')
For mine I did prose cos that’s what most firms seem to prefer. I think consistency matters though so if you use bullet points make sure that it’s like that for each entry so it isn’t haphazard!

I imagine it also depends on what it is too. Things like open days, insight events or forages (virtual internships), if there’s a lot of them, then you can probs list those in bullet point form. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Yep I decided to do that as well, it's probably the safest option, thanks a lot!!

Hi guys. I'm on my way to the Slaughters open day today but I totally forgot my 'professional' bag was packed away in storage (I have to move all my stuff out every term at Uni). All I could find in the house was a tote bag. Will this look super unprofessional (it said no dress code but we'd recommend smart casual..). If so, any suggestions on how to minimise the situation.

Personally, I would not worry about the bag as often they will place them away for you in a coatroom and you can take with you anything you may require into the room. I have taken a hideous backpack before and it has never really been an issue. As long as you look professional sans tote, it should be okay. You've got this!
