I did it last year. Not sure if it has changed but I found that there wasn't really a way to prepare, so don't worry too much. Ensure your mental maths is quick though as I remember that was one of the games.
If I go with a sector approach, can I discuss project finance and environmental litigation etc in Energy or should I just be safe and go with a more specific practice area?
I say this because even within Real Estate there are several types of law so I'm not sure how to approach this.

Don't worry too much! If you've got extenuating circumstances, firms understand that. There are other factors that can help you get a TC like work experience, extra-curricular activities etc
