Bit confused.
Sounds like you used AI for some parts of your answer(s) and not for others? Not quite clear from your post.
Firstly, some firms encourage the use of AI, others don't mention it, while others do prohibit it. However, I'm not sure that AI checks are likely to extend beyond simply...
it depends where you're applying to; if you're applying to Sheffield and you live in London they probably think you'll qualify there and then move to London.
A 2 March 2025 deadline means some time on that day, never 2359 the day before. There is potential for all kinds of weird timings tbh: I've seen 5pm, noon, 9am cut-oiffs. However, given that they don't give a time, plus it's a Sunday, it's almost certainly 23:59 tomorrow, but you can't be 100%...
I use OpenAI's API playground (https://platform.openai.com/playground/chat) as I like the pay-as-you-go model.
Currently pricing:
4o mini: $0.15/$0.60 (per million in/out tokens)
4o: $2.50/$10
4.5 $75/$150
The three 4 models do the same thing: generate text, however the 4o mini is the...
absolutely rookie numbers with the applications today.
Did:
Devonshires - spent quite a long time researching this, bit of a tedious process
Peters & Peters - much of this was copy+paste, but again the research of the firm
Winckworth Sherwood - did an appallingly bad application last year...
Katten PFO was above average - they at least managed to put "application unsuccessful" in the subject, rather than the usual ambiguous "Your application to Katten" nonsense, saves time.
I personally would mention competing firms or firms of similar or greater prestige, and would avoid in particular implying that you've applied to 100 firms.
I got 12 months free from Assessment Day when applying to Taylor Wessing.
They provide four group exercise mark schemes, which note:
"much more important than the ideas themselves [they do provide ideas, but they are very scenario-specific and not worth discussing here] is how you interact...
I just checked it, it is clearly nonsense/error.
The emails with the 'correct' order
a partner at 4pm yesterday (Tuesday) emailed to say they are meeting a client next Tuesday and has asked for a page of bullet points on cost impacts of new building legislation by next Monday midday, latest...
yes other thing that was slightly off was that the group task was scheduled till 12:00 but we were told '1 minute to go' in the chat (why not use voice!?) at 11:56 and then abruptly cut off at 11:57
They sent a table which was a Word document that consisted of a table with five rows (plus header):
<Time><Activity><Zoom link>
<10-10:15><Introduction><link>
<10:15-11:00><Group Exercise><link>
<11:00-11:10><Break>
<11:10-11:40><Written exercise><link>
<11:40-12:00><Written exercise><link>...
Any thoughts on acceptable practices for online tests, from the point of view of academic honesty?
I did a 'virtual' AC, which I felt was slightly poorly managed. There were two prior rounds: the form, then a proof-reading task using skillsarena, which had video proctoring activated.
The AC...
I think it would make more sense to ask for the two weeks than to simply cancel without trying. I would express it as a desire to experience both, rather than a preference for the other!
