I think if I'm remembering correctly from an application tips workshop that they said they take note of whether you've done one and it is considered in the application phase
I had a very similar experience in an AC, a guy was really rude about my idea and then the others rallied against him and were like "no it's good!" And I felt really awkward... I don't know if that guy got the VS, I would imagine that doesn't reflect well on people
I would focus on building confidence prior to your AC! Knowledge is power, so the best way to do this is to really research what it is about the firm that makes you feel like you'd be a good fit, and also really know yourself why it is you want to be a commercial solicitor.

I applied to links last cycle in November for spring vs and got rejected in mid February - didn't realise that until now... I guess it really could go either way 🙃
Anyone else not heard back? I applied at the very end of October and haven't heard a peep. I've also applied very early in the last two years prior, and shortly after submitting was rejected, so maybe the fact it's taken this long means there's some hope?
Oops I didn't realise you had to be a penultimate undergrad to apply to slaughter's easter scheme... They encouraged me to apply for the direct tc, but I feel so silly for having made that mistake!
Thank you so much for this, this is incredibly helpful! My background is in a non-law field and one of my biggest criticisms from the scheme was that it didn't seem like I was committed enough to law, so I suppose that's why I'm keen on getting more legal work experience, but I definitely think...
Any tips for maximising the time I have between now and a vac scheme in June? I would love to find work experience as a paralegal, but because of covid, feel limited in my options. How can I best show the firm that I've grown in this time?
