I can't speak for anyone else, but from my own experience (which was successful) - my gut instinct was they wanted someone quite well-known. My approach was I ended up picking someone quite well-known and broke down my answer to highlighting three things I admired about them. So my order was 1)...
Legislation.gov.uk usually provides all new legislation for the UK, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland (https://www.legislation.gov.uk/new) if it helps. It doesn't have any analysis besides the main Act/SI itself.
Hi Maya,
I don't ask this question for my benefit (I have just graduated but I am taking a gap year), but for the benefit of those with LPCs who are in the middle of their application cycle. From your post (and please correct me if I am wrong) I understand that Ropes & Gray is not the only law...
I have before, but I have placed them "last" in my list. I have always placed current employees first and then if the future trainee gave an additional insight from their experience, placed that in last.

If it helps, I have one C at A-level and a first-class from a non-RG. I didn't do a mentorship scheme but did do one of their insight days, and I was progressed to an interview. So I don't think you need to worry. :)
