What’s it actually like to be a trainee solicitor?
Follow our TCLA member as they progress through their training contract at a leading international law firm.
Try checking out RollOnFriday and Reddit, you’ll find some honest insights there. In terms of career progression, Dentons seems worse than BCLP.
I know BCLP is great for anyone interested in real estate, planning, and construction. If these are your areas of interest, BCLP would be a great...
10 days (applied on 14 Feb, received the tests on 24 Feb, completed them on 2 Mar, received the results on 5 Mar)
Though Mayer Brown is rolling, I’m still waiting to hear back on my application and tests. Hopefully I’ll get an invite for the job sim + VI
I scored 3 average and 2 below average with work ethic, ownership and social adaptability as my top strengths.

I’m not sure which firms you’re applying to, but every year, many candidates who require visa sponsorship secure training contracts, so I don’t think the visa is a major issue. MC / SC...
Thanks! That’s the case for two firms.
One has a small team in this practice, and the lawyer ranked in Chambers is actually a senior associate. From what I found on the firm's structure, a litigation partner seems to be overseeing his work. He’s also been on a podcast and shared insights in the...
