What’s it actually like to be a trainee solicitor?
Follow our TCLA member as they progress through their training contract at a leading international law firm.
Does anyone have any tips for training/preparing yourself for case study exercises? Also how far in advance do you start doing your prep - is it a weekly thing and I don’t have TCLA premium either. Thank you!
This is impressive! I think they put more weight on the assessment - my friend got 99% percentile on WG but still got rejected and she thinks it’s because of the assessment and her grades. Which is annoying because that score could have possibly ensured her to pass through the stages elsewhere.
how is @Tintin06 sugar coating his journey when he is being transparent about everything? what your saying is highly irrelevant. Have you personally followed @Tintin06 through his career journey to know that he isn’t a career changer? Lol. If your this TC guru why are you still searching for a...
I don’t think your initial comment was necessary… comes across as being patronising. If @Tintin06 says they are a career changer then so be it - no need to question them about it and say nevertheless I’m sure you’ve gained experience?? It’s not everything you must comment on sometimes tap into...

Ohh okay perf thank you! She’s still waiting to hear from them & where did you see that you could do one or the other? Strange they don’t consider candidates for TCs because CMS don’t have a vac scheme.
Ohhh okayy that makes sense - did CMS reach out to you and then you withdrew or did you see that you was allocated then withdraw (sorry for all the qs just asking for a friend)
Hey @Ram Sabaratnam
Thank you for this perspective! I’ve spent quite a long time on my application and it’s gone through review stages with my mentor, so that’s why I’m a little scared to hand in, what I believe is a strong application, so late in the cycle to just be ‘rejected’ on the basis of...
Opinions pls - Do you think its wise to still submit an app for BCLPs spring vac scheme even though the deadline is 13th Dec and they recruit on a rolling basis? Or would it be better to apply for the summer vac scheme since the deadline is 17th Jan?
