Thanks so much, hope it all works out! Hahah I’m super type A with this kind of thing (not with very much else tbh) so I love having everything super neatly laid out and organised like this because it makes my brain happy 😂 how’s your application journey?
Absolutely don’t worry about it! I applied for a bunch of things right before and around Christmas and New Year’s (oops), and firms started to get back to me from the 2nd onwards, so don’t stress!
Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone has had a great holiday season. When not doing the usual holiday things like spending time with immediate and extended families, I've spent a lot of my holiday season doing VS/TC applications due to my own time mismanagement, oops ...
Shoutout to my...
Applied to Mishcon de Reya for their summer VS a few days ago. Hopefully I can progress to their VI (I somehow managed to do that last year lol) so fingers crossed!! It’s a firm I really like so let’s see how it goes 🤞🤞🤞
Any thoughts on how to tackle these questions from Withers and Penningtons Manches Cooper respectively?
1. If your favourite childhood toy suddenly came to life, what advice would you give it today? (60 words)
2. If you were the CEO of Penningtons Manches Cooper, where would you look to open a...
I submitted my application for Mills & Reeve yesterday and am hoping to get my application to Mishcon de Reya in by the end of the week (both summer vac schemes). I have also just submitted my last university assessment of the semester so it's full steam ahead with applications. I'm 75% happy...
Well they gave me a PFO the day after I took mine so I think that's a good indication. Otherwise they don't give you your results.
(Edit: I'm only talking about Taylor Wessing here. Didn't apply to Latham so I have no clue what they do).
I’m currently 8 hours ahead of UK time since I’m back home, and I just opened my email to see a Taylor Wessing PFO that was sent last night post-test 😍 I thought I did well in the test and did quite a bit of practice for the test so that’s a shame, but I guess this means I just need to work...
Update three months in because I dropped off TCLA for a few months! It's been a super busy semester at uni, and it's scary to think that I only have one left to go :( Graduation is actually a terrifying prospect that I can’t mentally wrap my head around.
I’ve also now got two mentors which has...
Hi Gemma, thanks for your kind offer and I'm so sorry for my late reply! I ended up not using TCLA for a few months and also decided not to apply to U.S. firms as I feel they don't currently align with what I'm looking for training-wise. That being said, I'm sure you're very busy looking through...
The test platform should've sent you a database of tests you can use to practice that mirror the real one. I've been using them to practice and it's been very helpful
Thank you for your offer Gemma! I’m currently trying to decide whether U.S. firms is a good fit for me, as I really did enjoy the private client work experiences I’ve done. That being said, I did complete an internship in funds with a U.S. firm a few weeks ago, and I was pleasantly surprised...
