You don't need to avoid it completely; just don’t let it be the main focus of your answers, especially regarding the level of detail you’re asking about.
Trainees only specialise in the jurisdiction they are qualifying into, regardless of any relevant knowledge, regional ties, or language...
Unfortunately, I don't think you can say they are expanding into India until they announce it (like CMS recently have).
It may be their intention, but the first article was stated before the regulations were relaxed earlier this year, and there are still quite a few restrictions which mean that...
Candidates often fixate on what they believe went wrong, becoming overly critical in the process. No one, not even an experienced interviewer like me, can truly evaluate how strong your answer to this question was or how it fits into the overall context of your interview. It's tough, but try not...
Although not @ReedSmithBecca, I would like to highlight if you are not graduating until the summer of 2026, in most instances, you wouldn’t be able to start a TC until the late summer/autumn of 2027, as you would need to complete and pass the SQE before starting a TC and this would take around...
Not a direct disadvantage, but there will be a question around your motivations and why you are pursuing a very different career route.
If you can explain this well though, it is not an issue. I have recruited people with medical backgrounds before. It is just the number of people who make...
Congratulations on securing the assessment centre - it just shows you that firms have reserve or waiting lists for a reason!
What assessments are you expecting? If you can provide any details, it can help us with appropriate guidance for you.
Academic results are different to module grades though. I think they expect you to include all your qualifications on your CV but not necessarily your individual modules related to those qualifications. There is no reference to modules in the details about what you have to include in the CV, but...
These are reasons why I am pretty sure you don't have to list all modules in your CV.
Reading their website they say you have to include all of this information in the online application form. There is no reference to including this information in the "preparing your CV" section of their...
Given the scheme is in less than two weeks I would call them tomorrow - if they have not responded to email there is no point emailing again. I would call instead.
Just check your junk mail and that your email was correct on your application just in case either of these points could be the...
No - for some experiences that are either short in nature or have limited responsibilities, I would not expect to see the full word count utilised. It is just there for instances when it is needed.
I would generally recommend sticking to what the section is asking for you, so if it is only asking for work experience, just focus on that rather than extracurriculars, especially if you are going to highlight these elements elsewhere.
Please remember that sharing this type of information in the forums is against our terms, as it undermines recruitment processes. More details can be found here: https://www.thecorporatelawacademy.com/forum/help/terms/

Unfortunately there is not an "ideal" structure or level of analysis. This will vary from firm to firm, even supervisor to supervisor, and even task to task.
It is really important to get clarity on the expectations from the person who is giving the task to you so that apply the circumstances...
Feel free to PM me a copy of your CV and I’ll have a quick look over it. I suspect there is an easy way to cut this down. I wouldn’t expect an academic section to take up this amount of space.
Thank you for clarifying.
I read this as that you need to put all your overall results on your CV but not a breakdown of the modules, as these will be on the online application form. I could be wrong though.
Normally with changes in formatting, even extensive academic results can usually be...
I think with Slaughter and May you put all your module grades into a seperate application form. If this is the case, you don’t have to list all the modules on your CV.
I don’t know if anyone who has applied to the firm can confirm this.
I am tagging in @Ram Sabaratnam and @Andrei Radu who might be better placed to advise on this from their recent experiences from their schemes.
Navy or dark grey are the safest choices for suit colours. Those who disapprove of black suits tend to be more traditional people, often from private...
I think if they had a minimum requirement for A-levels it would be referenced on this page of their website but there is no reference to A-levels at all, only the 2.1.
