No need for a professional to take the photo - it can just be an appropriate digital photo taken by a friend on a suitable background that is head/shoulders.
Just apply with the same email address. ATS systems are sophisticated enough to pick up duplicate applications from candidates beyond email addresses and will use other key data to flag a potential duplication.
Firms want to ensure they:
1) speak to someone soon - an email could easily be missed by or not picked up for some time
2) Get a sense as to whether the individual will accept the offer
3) have to opportunity to answer any questions the candidate may have
4) engage more with the candidate -...
Direct TCs are not an issue as you will be out of employment with your paralegal firm by the time you start your TC (when you start working for the firm).
The issue is more when you are effectively working for two companies at the same time that may be different sides of a deal or case - that...
I personally wouldn’t follow up unless you needed to update your CV/application form.
Speculative applications are effectively a way to data capture your details. When organisations do this, they do so with no particular vacancy in mind and they may not even have any live vacancies at that...
I would speak to your firm about this as there could be flexibility if there are two trainee intakes a year and if you are available to start it sometime this year.
When they are speculative, I wouldn’t expect a response back unfortunately. You could email again, but you could easily not get a response to that email as well.
Depends on the role. Some fixed term contract roles will actively look for future trainees, while permanent roles may avoid them because they want someone longer term.
I am sorry to hear about the redundancy - they are always difficult and emotional situations to deal with. Please do take care of yourself at this time as you are allowed to feel upset by what has happened.
Firstly, redundancy is not a reflection of you or you performance, so it is not an issue...
No - I don’t think you need to update firms about this. Many candidates will have updates to their application, especially if the recruitment process takes a few months, and it would be very difficult to manage constant updating applications.
I only recommend major updates such as end of year...
Lots of people do this so I don’t see it as an issue. If the trainees can’t or don’t want to give you advice then they will likely either not respond or just say that. But there is no harm in asking as long as you do so politely.
Unless its a spring scheme, I wouldn't expect reference checks to happen until mid to late April (possibly even a bit later).
Many people disclose offers before reference checks are completed, especially for training contracts, so I don't see it being an issue if you do want to post it on...
As you have emailed twice already, I don’t think there is any value in emailing again especially if the last email was only a few working days ago.
If you do want to follow up again, I would recommend calling rather than emailing.
No - this wouldn’t be a reason for failing an exercise, and especially if you did reference you thought it had been misinterpreted/should have been done differently.
If an application form suggests an interest in MC/US firms (e.g. previous open days, insight programmes, Forage programmes, events etc), there can be a question mark over why the applicant is now aiming for a firm that is very different to to them, especially when considering complexity of work...
I really don’t think you can make assumption. Some teams work on the sprint model of project management and can turn around things like screening quickly with the right resources and planning.
