    Does anyone know if its particularly advantageous to apply for Gibson Dunn's Open Day before the Vac Scheme? Are they like Latham where it's very important to them? The Open Day isn't until December and their apps opened on 1st Sept on a rolling basis, so I don't want to disadvantage myself.

    I was the normal Training Contract route, but I heard back at the end of last week (PFO post-VI). So, I reckon you'll be hearing from them soon! You could always send them an email if they've not responded by the end of next week though, they were very nice and prompt when I sent one.

    They give you unlimited time to plan your answers, so I wouldn't stress about this too much as you can plan when they come up :)

    Has anyone else here applied for the HSF Social Mobility Open Day? Does anyone know roughly when we'll hear back? The deadline was the 8th and the Open Day is at the end of the month, so I was hoping we might know soon so the trains to and from London won't be ridiculously expensive.

    Not so much anymore by the looks of things! Legal Cheek has reported they're only taking on 63 trainees now rather than 110.

    I did 250-300 words, I thought around there was probably best as most firms ask for 250.

    I think it's hard for people to advise as firms all seem to be looking for something different. Last year, I passed A&O's but failed Simmons & Simmons' and Withers'. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any kind of correct formulae. I wish you all the best with your application!!
