Any idea if its better applying to Macfarlanes direct TC vs VS? For context, I am a graduate and I'm not sure how much holiday I can take off work and the VS deadline is next week. Would applying for a direct TC put me at a disadvantage in comparison to those applying to VS at the firm?- thirdtimelucky

I’ve not done a case study at Bakers but my experience of doing one was that it aligns quite closely with the firms core practice areas. The case study I did had lots of different elements (including some M&A) but it was definitely more advisory and just spotting potential commercial problems...- thirdtimelucky

I applied at 1 am on the 31st December, received VI invite on the 6th January! From my portal it only says vacation scheme and I don't remember putting down a preference so I am assuming there is only one VS!- thirdtimelucky

Last year I got to the partner interview! (Hoping to get to the VS this year lol!) but yes not sure how I did given the VI was quite tough!! When did you do it? I did mine just now but last year they took 4 months to get back to me though understandably they were dealing with the COVID pandemic so needed to make new arrangements! Hopefully it will be sooner than that :D- thirdtimelucky
