baker have started looking at apps. From previous years if the portal changes from details locked to not anonymous means they’ve at least opened it. For reference I applied about a month ago (right after open) and it changed one of these days (haven’t been on the portal in about a week and a half)
This year they’re reviewing it on a rolling basis.
“We review applications on a rolling basis but never make offers to fill all our places before the application deadline.”
on their site and email after sending the application:
-February 1st 2025 - Applications open.
-February 1st - April 1st 2025 - Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. All applications will be reviewed prior to online tests being sent out.
-April 1st 2025 - Application deadline...
I think something to think about isn’t what the title/firm was but what transferable skills you gained.
With that said though, direct apps usually have experienced applicants (a lot of foreign trained jurists) so experience is definitely valued
From previous cycles, does anyone know whether there is any truth to Baker’s portal changing their Anonimity status from details locked to not anonymous being a signal that your app has been viewed/decided on?
