Can anyone explain how DWF's IPO and new resulting business structure has affected their business in a positive way? I understand that a lot of the employees are shareholders so that serves as incentive, but I am not sure what else is great?
Ah ok yes, that makes sense - thank you! Do you know of any specific examples? the question is asking me to find 3 examples of ways the firm differentiates but I only have 200 words *stress*
if a question is asking how a firm differs from its competitors, do I just need to say things about the law firm as a business i.e. practice area specialists or client-facing innovation etc? Or can I say things that would benefit me as a future trainee i.e. quality of training, international...
hey! I had this problem and emailed grad rec and they said that they had received my test so I didn't need to worry - I'd probably recommend you should also email, just in case :)
I have to answer a question about why I've chosen my preferred location - how do I go about answering this? I've had this once before and kinda just wrote about the fact that I loved the vibrancy London and that it was a global hub so there were more opportunities
but is that ok?
omg same! I was confused if the VI is automatic or if we have to answer the questions in the form well enough to get to that point - do you know? also, how are you going to prep for the interview? :)
is anyone still waiting for the following:
Mayer Brown (post TI)
Addleshaw Goddard (post app)
Links (post tests)
BCLP (post test)
Macfarlanes (post app)
I haven't got an AC yet, but I really don't think it matters, because I've heard of people with very low WG percentiles, whereas I got like the 95th percentile last year and still got rejected
I think they place greater weight on the Capp results
thank you! I haven't really had much time to be involved in something like that, as this is a relatively new interest of mine, but I'll get to thinking!
I've recently become quite interested in energy (ESG specifically) but I am unsure how to connect this to myself? I just like reading about it and I attended an ESG webinar with Linklaters which is what initially sparked my interest but idk how to link it to myself - any advice is appreciated!
Can I just say how happy this made me - I really wanted to finally get passed the TI stage for Mayer Brown and I thought I yet again wouldn't bc of all the AC offers (well done btw guys!) but this has genuinely reassured me that there is hope thank you so much 😭
I'm no
it's very similar to the Links test - situational judgements with a little bit of WG style questioning at the end
What qualities do BCLP look for?
Well rounded individuals who can demonstrate commercial awareness, an interest in current affairs, intellectual curiosity...
Does anyone know of a Macfarlanes client that has been advised on both corporate and private client matters by the firm? Or another client/deal that shows both of these areas were used?
