Hearing Back from Law Firms, Assessment Centres & Interview Tips - 2019 - 2020

I could've sworn I read somewhere that they could be used to redeem application reviews and other rewards somewhere then as soon as I started collecting them I couldn't find that post anymore and I wonder if I was just hallucinating

Hearing Back from Law Firms, Assessment Centres & Interview Tips - 2019 - 2020

Does anyone know what to put in Orrick's cover letter? Their other questions pretty much all cover the standard why law, why Orrick, why you, and there's the standard mitigating circumstances section in the form as well.

Hearing Back from Law Firms, Assessment Centres & Interview Tips - 2019 - 2020

Just sent off four applications with a few more to go out tomorrow as I'm finalising them. I just wanted to wish everyone the best of luck in this final stretch and to remember to have a real nice weekend!

Hearing Back from Law Firms, Assessment Centres & Interview Tips - 2019 - 2020

Got a direct TC rejection from NRF too but using "rolling basis" as a reason is rather odd in my opinion as they might as well have closed the deadline early because I applied a day before the deadline

Hearing Back from Law Firms, Assessment Centres & Interview Tips - 2019 - 2020

Does anyone know if I should fill in open days etc separately in the Hogan Lovells application form (e.g. new entry for each open day) or put them all down in a single entry?

Hearing Back from Law Firms, Assessment Centres & Interview Tips - 2019 - 2020

You could contact support from Reveilan or try using a different browser. It didn't lag for me when I used Firefox instead of Chrome, oddly enough. If you've already completed all the tests, then at best, you can contact the firm for an extension of the deadline and mention this issue (I have...

I'm still waiting. Emailed them yesterday but no response at all, might be a PFO :/ but I'll keep my fingers crossed and see

same generic feedback, i might call them this week to find out more if they're happy to give specific feedback, but at the moment it's just a hindsight thing based on the more recent applications ive been completing

Rejection from Davis Polk which sucks but at least I definitely have an idea of what could have been improved, I guess

Hearing Back from Law Firms, Assessment Centres & Interview Tips - 2019 - 2020

I haven't gotten an under review email either. Just sent them and a few other firms emails requesting an update. I got Working with Others and Resilience, weakness in Excellence though. :D I also read on an old LegalCheek article that they used the CAPP assessment to replace the traditional...

Hearing Back from Law Firms, Assessment Centres & Interview Tips - 2019 - 2020

I am under the impression that they will close early if they're full. I know I barely missed out on Slaughter and May's non-law direct TC (I'm studying Scots Law) since I fell sick for a week and they closed the deadline like a week early. I'm personally gonna apply anyway and keep my fingers...

    Ask A Graduate Recruiter Anything!

Hi Jessica, do you know if there's meant to be a difference if an application form asks "Why does a career in a city law firm interest you?" instead of "City law firm"? As I understand, the former can be any city at all and be more along the lines of "why do you want to work in a city" whereas...

Hearing Back from Law Firms, Assessment Centres & Interview Tips - 2019 - 2020

Just thought I would put this out here, but Apply4Law will have some maintenance this weekend just so people know. Also, does anyone have tips for "why the firm" and "why law/commercial law" in HL's application questions? I've answered all four questions with honest experiences but I can't...

Hearing Back from Law Firms, Assessment Centres & Interview Tips - 2019 - 2020

Summer rejection from Reed Smith, it's a little upsetting but I'm not too bummed ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It was one of my earlier and weaker applications, I don't think I personalised it or tailored it to the firm enough Really glad for those of you who've gotten good news today though! Here's to hoping for...

Hearing Back from Law Firms, Assessment Centres & Interview Tips - 2019 - 2020

Iirc Macfarlanes has a really strong private client practice and calls their network "very good friends" (need someone to confirm this). Travers might be the most generic of the three. Slaughters has a multi-specialist approach to training and a flexible seat structure, most FTSE 100 clients of...

Hearing Back from Law Firms, Assessment Centres & Interview Tips - 2019 - 2020

Mostly applied close to the deadlines but I'm still waiting to hear from Linklaters, Reed Smith, Debevoise, Kirkland, Ashurst, Freshfields, Davis Polk, NRF, and TW. Most of these have been just over two weeks ago now, wondering if I should email them to find out what's going on. I only got...

Hearing Back from Law Firms, Assessment Centres & Interview Tips - 2019 - 2020

Relax and take a deep breath, try and distract yourself doing something you enjoy, you should hear back tomorrow. Contact them on Tuesday if you haven't been informed by then. If it is a rejection, remember to take care of yourself and take a few deep breaths and do what you like. Go out for a...

Nope, I don't really think it's something that can be prepared for and there aren't exactly any practice tests for Cognify or Emotify
