I would potentially see if you can complete your application without the need to submit GCSE details. It might just be optional.
You can try and send a revised statement that is 850 words, but I wouldn’t be overly surprised if they have to take your first application. How much it will impact your applications review with it being over the 850 words is hard to determine unfortunately though.
I don’t think you can make any assumptions on this unfortunately, especially because recruitment isn’t necessarily identical from cycle to cycle.
Given the timeframe, contact the firm and ask whether they can provide an update on the a status of your application or when you may hear back.
If they have no A-level criteria, this will apply across all types of qualifications and therefore you will not need a certain number of UCAS points either.
If you have a strong set of other work experience that can draw parallels in terms of transferable skills or topics of work, and have sought other opportunities like open days/virtual programmes, then it’s still worth a punt if they are a firm you want to apply to.

Either is fine - but make sure it’s relevant to your application at the same time - eg I wouldn’t cover topics or skills the firm isn’t involved with/have an interest in.
I’d stress that if you could point this out to firms you think are going to be super selective on the basis of university attended, they would probably take it into consideration. Firms generally love the competitive sports people for the skills/qualities they bring from outside of academia.
Yes - particularly for TC offers, they will need to see you have obtained the grade they state is their minimum requirement.
VS is a little more difficult as you don’t usually get your results until the scheme has started/concluded, so they will usually work on the basis of the grades you have...
This should only relate to training contract offers. I have never heard of a firm stopping you from doing multiple vacation schemes if you are only at the vacation scheme stage.
