They will usually contact you to see if you can get any alternative proof - for instance from another ex employee or ask for bank statements as evidence of payment
Usually you would have to give contact details. I can only think if they already have the companies on their database that they would know who to contact. But this wouldn’t work for small companies or many companies outside of the U.K. - it would only really apply to companies that have 100s of...
Less than 12-18 months in my opinion. Ideally in the last six months if you can but up to 18 months is generally fine.
Sometimes very unique deals that only happen once in a lifetime can be used though.
This language is unnecessary. People don't need to bend to your ways of communicating either.
Please be more considerate when responding in future. Behaviour like this will not be tolerated.
Take it as a compliment.
The associate clearly feels there is something particularly compelling about you to do this - it won’t be something all firms do and even within a firm, not all interviewers will do it.
It might be a bit of a sales tactic if trey think you might turn down the offer for...
That is fine - I think any skill highlighted would be obvious ones if they are critical to the job. It’s about picking the ones you think are most critical - so explain why it is so important and then also the evidence of how you have showcased it.
It really depends how long you have been waiting. But just email them if you are concerned. Graduate Recruitment teams are always dealing with these type of queries - it isn’t an issue to ask unless you are being very unreasonable with timeframes (eg chasing up days after the last stage was...
My focus would be on what you could do to potentially build trust/a relationship back up with the client. If it’s not about the quality of your work, then it is potentially something fixable as it’s about the perception of who you are rather than the work you are doing.
It really depends if it is rolling recruitment or not. If it is, I would try to apply by the end of June if you can or when you get any results (assuming you are studying currently), but if it is non rolling recruitment then it really won’t matter when you apply.
Yes - I think it is important to try and work in some capacity once you graduate for the reasons you mention. Any job (even part time work in retail/hospitality) is better than having a gap in your CV.
I think it will be important to either prioritise your applications or time to balance both...
To be fair to the poster, this is a very different situation.
Most people apply to a job knowing where the location is and make a decision on whether to apply or not based on location. Ultimately they make a decision knowing what the costs will be. In this instance, the poster has had that...
I wouldn’t over think this - you just need to ask. I know it can be worrying as you have never been in this situation before, but it will be something the graduate recruitment team are very used to having a conversations about. They will have a policy/view on how to deal with such requests and...
I would explain this to the firm and see if there is any support they can provide. You can explain you will be out of pocket by hundreds of pounds by having to find short-term accomodation in the region. The worst they can say is no and then you are in no different a position than you are in...
It technically could be any practice area that brings in the most revenue (not necessarily profit), where they have the most headcount, or where they are highlighted rated/ranked.
I would probably keep in it mind as practice areas you are most likely to sit in as a trainee (for the purposes of...
