I’ve also received a test for the Macfarlanes Senior Partner Dinner. They’re asking for too much now lmao. A Cappfinity SJT and a telephone interview for a dinner??!! 🥲🥲
Yeah hopefully it’s just an error and we don’t need to do the test. I’m guessing it’s purely to cut down the numbers. I...
For the amberjack test, I also struggled a lot because it was my first time doing it this application cycle (Paul, Weiss and SH). I used this resource and method to help me identify what each question seemed to be looking for:
I imagine it depends on the firm. I’m assuming this question is for Linklaters, who use both the Capp Test and WGT. To my knowledge, they ask for consistent 2:1 across all modules. They take into account MC, but they are quite focused on grades tbh. There are other firms like Travers Smith and...
It’s time for another one of Chris Brown’s very controversial posts. Please do not cancel me on the TCLA forum. Trigger warning: sensitive topics will be addressed. Viewer discretion is strongly advised. 😂
I will never understand Trump’s argument that DEI practices can be discriminatory. Who...
I did the exact same thing lmao. I made a last minute decision to apply and stayed up till late writing my application for the Macfarlanes senior partner dinner. 😅
This is the strangest firm name I have come across so far what the hell. 😂
Foot Anstey, Bird & Bird and Burges Salmon are also pretty interesting name choices. 🥲
I second this completely! Thank you @Andrei Radu for being the TCLA forum GOAT!!! 🐐🐐
Both his interview guide and forum posts were key in my success (gaining VS offers from both Paul, Weiss and Willkie)! I genuinely would not have found myself to be in this position without them!! I bookmarked...
I took the SH test earlier and I think I scored 8766 across the four pillars (so 27/36 or 75%) and I think I got mid for verbal reasoning and high for numerical reasoning.
Does anyone here know what their benchmark is from previous cycles because I’m not sure what to think. I still have PTSD...
Paul, Weiss said they would be taking on 20 people for the VS (10 for Spring and 10 for Summer), with at least 5-10 of those getting a TC offer. That would mean a 25-50% conversion rate from VS to TC! I don’t know if their plans have changed, but this is what was said by Paul (grad rec manager). 🙂
I think Paul, Weiss may have held an initial batch of interviews and made Spring and/or Summer VS offers from that batch. Perhaps they didn’t fill all their VS slots for the Summer VS from that initial batch, so now they are beginning to interview a new batch of candidates for the Summer VS. To...
I felt this exact way for Paul, Weiss, which was my first interview ever. It was my first time interacting with and speaking to a senior partner in person!! After the interview, I was overthinking everything I had said and nitpicked at almost every possible point. I had convinced myself I was...
Yeah of course! Once I get through the end of this cycle, I will post a breakdown of my applications and interviews. As it is my first cycle, I can only go based off of my experience this time around. I have a few firms left to hear back from! 🙂
A few of us got sent online assesment invites yesterday, although there may be further batches to come. I guess they are dealing with Spring VS applicants first and Summer VS (1 & 2) afterwards? I applied for all 3 because I’m indecisive. 😂
I think it depends on how many people take up their VS offers with the firm initially. If a firm has 20 VS places, but only 15 people accept their VS offers, they might have 5 more places to give out, in which case it’s very likely that you can get offered a VS (if you are on the waitlist). I...
Nah not at all man! They most likely will send them in batches and/or might be prioritising Spring VS first. Don’t assume PFO just yet! Best of luck for SH. 🙂
