Definitely a rumour. Firms set deadlines for a reason. As long as you apply before the deadline you will be okay. I am also looking to apply to SH by mid Feb.
Of course firms like BCLP, Bird & Bird and DLA Piper do take rolling recruitment more seriously but most ‘rolling’ firms will consider...
I think Paul, Weiss are going to review all of our written applications alongside SJT to determine who moves to the AC. That’s what the email says which has the test results. 🙂
If you have a strong written application I would definitely say not to worry at all! Best of luck for Paul, Weiss!
Just finished the Paul, Weiss test and I don’t know what to make of my results lmao.
I scored in the middle for applied verbal and very high for applied numerical (idk how that happened I'm awful at maths). 💀
My scores for the pillar things are as follows: grit (7/9), applied intellect (5/9)...
I don’t think anyone will know what the SJT benchmark is because we are all doing the test for the first time. I imagine Paul, Weiss don’t even have a fixed benchmark determined yet. I hope it isn’t too high though. 🥲🥲
If each pillar is scored out of 9 and there is 4 pillars, the total is out...
It depends on how many people have taken the test and when they took it. Majority of us heard back last Thurs and Fri and have until at least tomorrow or Wednesday to complete the test. 🙂🙂
The deadline was the 19th and we all heard back by the 31st. Assuming Paul, Weiss take around the same...
I’m not sure if anyone rly knows yet whether they have passed or failed the SJT and been invited to the virtual AC. I imagine Paul, Weiss will review applications again alongside test scores and shortlist those that have been successful for the virtual AC. 🙂🙂
Yeah 100% it’s definitely worth it. I have now passed the application stage for White & Case and didn’t go to their open day. 🙂🙂
I went to several of their virtual events and completed multiple forage internships. I guess the most important thing is to demonstrate your interest in the firm...
I had an interview recently which was going to be held on Microsoft teams in groups of 5. I was offered a 1-1 telephone interview as an adjustment. 🙂🙂
The interviewer asked me the exact same questions as others but with extra thinking time and additional time to deliver my answers. 🙂🙂
Does it tell you your scores after you finish it? 🥲
I’m sure it’ll be fine because I don’t think they will have a pre-determined benchmark since we are the first ones to take it. 🙂
Congrats on getting a VS with HFW! 🥳
Just out of curiosity, how were you able to send almost 70 applications in a time span of 3-4 months! Absolute machine! 😯
I’ve only managed 19 and planning on applying for one more: Stephenson Harwood. 💀
I don’t know what the specific post is that you are trying to find, but I did find these posts which I think could be potentially useful! 🙂🙂
SJT’s are actually so difficult because there is never a single right answer! 🥲🥲
From what I have seen on this forum, Weil has not given updates to most people following VI. They are genuinely taking a Weil to get back to people waiting on them. 😂
As for other firms, I think I have seen a handful of AC’s for Milbank and DPW. Don’t count yourself out just yet!
There is...
I haven’t applied to Orrick but I definitely think that the approach @Ram Sabaratnam suggested in the above comment will work well! I remember looking at it earlier today. 😂
Best of luck in your application to Orrick! 🙂
For the Ropes and Gray question use this as guidance because we were all confused as to whether we needed to link the question back to us as well. 😂
Click on view attachment. The advice is from Maya who is on the grad rec team at Ropes and Gray. 🙂
