    How much of it is about application technique?

    I didn't realise how important it was until recently nor did I realise how generically I was describing firms - when I thought I was tailoring my applications. If you remember that firms get so many similar applications from students with decent grades it makes sense why they use it to cut down...

    Ok this is good motivation haha, I've only sent CC yet, but I wanted to get started on more this week. That makes sense, there's a few firms which I can't apply to because I was rejected after my application for a vac scheme. I wish I'd known because I think my applications are a lot better now...

    Agreed. I tried to stop looking at statistics because they all ended up putting me off! One thing the others have said though is that if you're good enough you'll get in, so statistics aren't too helpful in that sense. I kinda need to internalise that.

    Hey Rayhaan, thank you for being so honest with your answers (with regard to your hours!), I don't see that too often! I noticed you said your hours are probably longer than UK firms - I assume you're including the magic circle? Also with that in mind - was it hard to adjust to working life?
