Go and have a look on the www.lawcareers.net website - they have a list of TC deadlines which you can separate out from Vac scheme deadlines. However, I don't think it differentiates between firms that recruit 90% of their trainees from vac schemes and still advertise for direct TCs and those...
I got an interview with Macs for a direct TC last summer if that helps. Some of the midsized less popular firms (think Kingsley Napley or Marriott Hanson as opposed to Linklaters or A&O) do also.
It was a bit of a challenge motivating myself whilst unemployed to do something on an application every day as I was quite burnt out from an accelerated law degree. But weirdly enough once I got a temp job to tide myself over, it became a lot easier to do it as the structure added a familiar...
it's less impressive than it sounds when you factor in the few months I took off after graduating with a menial job before starting the LPC in January. I had the time to kill. Anyone with that amount of time could do it.
You've had responses from most of yours already?!?
I applied to 28 firms this cycle (the most I've ever done). I have so far heard from 8. They seem to be taking their sweet sweet time with me ;_;
Does anyone have any suggestions for current trends affecting the legal profession that I could research? I have a current answer on data protection but I'm starting to think it's getting a bit stale and wondered what everyone else is working with

Morning Jessica,
I'm writing an app for a firm which is asking me to "tell us something which did not turn out as expected" in 200 words.
Am I right in thinking that they want me to use STAR (or perhaps a more abbreviated version of it given the short word limit) to explain the situation and...
Hi Jessica,
I understand from looking at the Reed Smith thread that I will probably be sent the following research question to answer, which looks pretty challenging, and I have a few questions about how to approach it:
'Taking into account the firm's core values and drawing on any examples...
Also another third cycler here. I know it sounds extremely cliché but what's helped me stay sane is only focusing on me (not what anyone else is doing), keeping a positive spin on things and being open-minded and humble about what firms you want to work at. Also, remembering that there is no...
