The main way I ordered my work experience was simply by reverse chronology. That also happened to involve having my legal work experience (vac schemes) up top, just because I was in the midst of an application cycle and so that was all I was doing work-wise. Nevertheless, I quite like having...
Usually I would avoid second-guessing things like this. Often they will progress everyone through the process together and ask which scheme you want to do again when they make you an offer
This and this are lists of upcoming TC deadlines. I think that the first one includes some vac scheme deadlines but only for firms where the vac scheme is a necessary component of the TC application!
If you had posted this today I would say it is still worth applying! Some of my offers came from firms I applied to on the deadline despite being rolling
Oh so basically it would slow him down a bit trying to get around the cars to overtake them? Haha so I take it you're not a Mercedes fan? 🤣 Thanks so much for the F1 intro - the only sport I really get into watching is tennis (or sometimes pool/snooker)!
@George Maxwell's advice is excellent! @S21 If you have an honest conversation with them, then they are more likely to try to cater to your own goals if they like you :)
When you say 'stuck' behind 4 lapped cars what do you mean? Would he not be allowed to overtake them?
So it sounds like the below suggestion is the best, and second best is the one that happened in your opinion?
Thanks for the article!!
Hi @S21, congratulations on the offer that you have - you must have really impressed them! Also congratulations on your first forum post!! :)
I would say that yes, if you are going to qualify into an area that is completely unrelated from where you want to be should you take up their offer...
Thanks so much for explaining - I think I get it! I guess I understand why this could be unfair to the lapped cars behind Max as they did not have the opportunity to unlap themselves, but I don't understand why it would be deemed to have changed who won out of Max and Lewis from the scenario in...
Hi @SLKEJRWOI97, thanks for such an amazing idea as a thread where TCLA members can go for general AC preparation - excellent initiative :)
@AvniD has clearly provided some first-rate advice here and there is not much for me to add!!
Nevertheless, I'll include something I wrote that follows...
This is extremely useful and thanks for starting this thread! Have you heard anything back from other firms? We may be able to compile a list of which firms sponsor visas for vacation schemes once we have enough information!
Hi @24aa2001, welcome to the forum!!
First of all, starting university with lower grades and bringing them up is the right way to be doing things. It is much more concerning when candidates seem to be struggling as their courses get harder. That said, it is possible that low first-year grades...
@Jessica Booker's post is extremely useful for providing the perspective of the firms and graduate recruitment teams in question!
Do bear this in mind if you start becoming disillusioned, but at the end of the day if you find that the tests are too much effort then there is nothing compelling...
I agree with @George Maxwell and @AvniD - it's not worth taking anything to heart here.
Ultimately, a firm can use a test like this if it likes. What I'm not sure I understand is how the kinds of tests used by different law firms can differ so much - surely the firms are not that different?
As...
I would add to all of the great advice above that knowing where you may struggle is the first step to knowing what you need to work on. Following up your answer of what you think you will find difficult is very important to show how you plan to overcome the difficulty!
