HI Cleo
We don't hold any interviews in person until after the application deadline, as our application process is not rolling. We do have video interviews prior to the deadline, but those don't incur a cost. So, @IneedaTCASAP would have been at one of our insight events.
Many thanks
Gemma
Hi @IneedaTCASAP - we front load all of our assessments (application form, video interview, written exercise and partner interview) prior to the vac scheme. There is no need for any further assessment.
The partner interview can be in person or over Zoom, this is up to the candidate. The...
Hi @andrecsaa We have approx 20 vac schemers across the year and approx 6 to 7 training contracts. We don't have any assessments once the vac scheme position has been accepted, our reviews are via feedback from the scheme itself.
many thanks
Gemma
Hi @NJS no we don't. For context, here is our website text:
"Do you recruit on a rolling basis?
Yes and no. We review applications and video interviews as they arrive, meaning you will hear from us within ten to fifteen working days as to the outcome of your application. However, two of our...
Hi, I aim to get back to everyone within 15 working days of the deadline. Sometimes there is a short delay and this is simply due to busy-ness. I do get back to all candidates as soon as I possibly can.
Hi @Pia Hindocha the date on which you apply won't factor into decision making. It would make a mockery of the application process if you discounted someone bc of the date of their application.
HOWEVER, I find that the vast majority of apps submitted within five days of the deadline tend to...
Hi @kokoprep We are able to issue certificates of sponsorship for vac schemers and trainees, but the final decision as to the visa is made by the Home Office.
Hi there, I would look at everything as a whole and, of course, take into account any mitigating circumstances. I think this is when it's vital to really ensure that the remainder of your application is absolutely excellent, commercial and very well researched.
Hi @09tata I would include this in your work experience/employment section. I would leave the positions of responsibility etc for extra curriculars etc. For me, you do not need to tie your extra curriculars or work experience into Willkie.
Hi Charlotte
I think that most firms will ask for a module breakdown and so they will see that you have got largely commendations and distinctions. You can also put the explanation on the additional education section too.
If I were reviewing this, I don't think it would impact my decision...
Hi @KissuMissu and @SoonToBeTrainee
Okay - so legal work experience (outside of Forage and equivalents and vac schemes) is largely dependent on who you know. For an employee to place emphasis on this therefore is ridiculous. Therefore, you do NOT have to have legal work experience to be...
Hi @AI212121 - the interviewers only know your name and whether you've studied law or not, and that is it. So, they would not have seen your application, video interview or written. The interview is 35 mins to an hour.
Hi @BBsharkk
1. no, they are not automatically disadvantaged at all but I would strongly recommend attending an event - we held/are holding over 40 virtual events this autumn. Virtual events are just as valuable as in person and more cost/time efficient for candidates. The reason I...
Hi @jsx7
No, you wouldn't be at a significant disadvantage - as I mentioned in my emails to those who weren't offered an insight evening place, we had seven times more apps than places! The webinars we hold are a brilliant brilliant way of learning about Willkie and I would highly recommend...
Hi @boots - you are overthinking. If you have mitigating circumstances (please detail this on the app), most firms will be sympathetic. It is important, as with all applications from all candidates, to make sure the rest of your application is absolutely spot on!
Hi @lynwang - as far I you can, try to elaborate on the points you've mentioned or have new reasoning. The trouble is with making the same points is you basically read out your written app, and it would be my recommendation to not do that.
