Hey All,
Just an early heads up that we will be locking this thread on the 1st August. It won't be going anywhere in case you want to search through old posts, but we'll be moving over to a new thread for 2025/26.
This is because the next cycle is (already) almost upon us 😮
This year's thread...
It is very taxing to do multiple vacation schemes. If it was me, I'd focus on the end goal: after another two weeks, you could come out with multiple training contract offers and you'll be grateful for what you've achieved (especially if they don't all convert).
Absolutely. The best one we have right now is this one.
This will also make sure you get any upcoming emails ahead of the application cycle. The plan is to send you all the best information we have about how to get a training contract this year :)

The way I'd see this is that (1) you clearly had extenuating circumstances in your first year and (2) you showed progression from first year to second year with a high 2:1.
I'd still keep in mind the need to write many high quality applications to firms you are interested in (and definitely do...
I admire your willingness to reflect on your journey. The main thing I'd say is that with a vacation scheme behind you, if you decide to go through another cycle, it'll help a lot. I hope you hang in there :)
With video interviews, I find the best way to get better is to practise. Ideally, you want to get as many reps in as you can of answering questions under timed conditions, until the countdown/question type doesn't really phase you.
Have you tried our video interview simulator?
