I've seen candidates do this in a few applications and I don't really see a problem with it. Securing a vacation scheme shows that you're a competitive candidate, which could work in your favour. I would use evidence of their training programme/the kind of initiatives they run. You can then make inferences about their culture from those facts. E.g., Do trainees have the opportunity to contribute ideas to the firm? Does the firm have a diversity quota? Does the firm offer a reverse...- Jaysen

I couldn't track anything down online about this, so I've sent them an email. I'll let you know if they get back to me. Just FYI, the automatic email they sent back did say: "We strongly recommend you apply early", but does not mention a rolling basis.- Jaysen

Advice needed - urgent!
Unless there’s something else you wanted to do, I see little harm in going for it. It’ll give you some good legal experience while you’re doing apps. Worse case scenario, you secure a training contract with a firm and have to give your notice in.- Jaysen

The larger firms will typically email you before the scheme with a timetable (although sometimes they don't tell you what department you're in until the first day). However, if you don't hear anything a few weeks before the scheme, then emailing them to find out is completely fine. Great...- Jaysen
