They send the test link out on deadline day so that will be 23rd January.
Those who pass the online test and application stage get invited to do the WGT.
Thank you so much @Amma Usman!!
This is really useful and makes the question seem a lot less complicated. 🙂🙂
Yes, Chris Brown has made it on to the TCLA Forum!!
🚀😱😎🔥
It was just a reminder about the application deadline which is the 19th January.
Paul, Weiss is non-rolling so you can still apply but just try to get your application in at least a few hours in advance of the deadline to avoid technical difficulties.
I am also working on my Travers Smith Summer VS application at the moment and had the exact same thoughts. 🥲🥲
I have quoted what @Jessica Booker advised to do when I asked this same question. 🙂🙂
You are more than good enough!! Don’t let what you see on this forum or elsewhere get to you and convince you otherwise! 🙂
You have a 2:1 and valuable work experience! 🥳
Bare in mind the average age of a NQ has risen to 30, meaning on average, most people didn’t even start their TC until they...
I’m working on an application at the moment and one of the questions is asking:
‘Why would you like to pursue a career as a solicitor at [x firm], and how do you see yourself contributing to the firm’s success?
Am I right in thinking this is asking:
(1) why law / why commercial law as a...
On their website it mentions they get around 4-5,000 applications across all their different opportunities e.g., HL Lift Off/Launch Pad, VS and Direct TC’s. 🥲
Around 2-300 people get invited to the VS AC across WVS and SVS. I imagine they will read every application and select the best ones and...
I did this but I wrote it in full the first time and then in brackets put (‘W&C’) next to the firm name so hoping it’s okay otherwise I’m cooked 😂😂😂
Although I don’t think I wrote it like that in the cover letter - I wrote it like that in the other sections of the application form.
That makes sense to be honest but it must be stressful when you’re dealing with all of the deadlines. 🥲🥲
The worst test is probably Cappfinity it tests absolutely everything from SJT to WGT. 🙃
I am thinking of applying for direct TC’s during the summer window depending on how these...
This is actually really impressive. Just out of curiosity, how have you managed to write so many applications - that takes some serious skill!
I think I’ve only managed to send around 7 applications so far since the beginning of the cycle and planning on sending 3 more. 🥲🥲
Best of luck in this...
Based on the wording I think they are separate from each other.
Since it says the VS will allow you to get to know the firm ‘before you apply for a training contract’ - I think this means the VS just acts like a insight scheme and you must then apply for the TC separately.
It might be that you...
Thank you I appreciate this a lot! I’m not used to writing cover letters as normally there are specific questions for each thing e.g., why do you want to pursue a career in commercial law or why x firm.
Guess this makes things easier in that it is essentially the same thing. :)
HSF and BCLP PFO on the same day 🥲🥲
HSF Summer VS: applied 1st Dec passed SJT 3rd Dec
BCLP Summer VS: applied 1st Jan took test on 4th Jan - didn’t pass HR interview.
I think you can create a profile on vantage and add your details on there and then when you start applications it gives you the option of using the pre saved information that is on your profile to fill in the personal information and the educational sections of the application.
The only things...
I am the same with every online test because I overthink each question and wonder whether any of my answer choices were correct.
I guess you just have to trust your gut instinct with them :)
I remember stressing over the HSF online test but then I somehow managed to pass that SJT. I don’t...
I did my test on Wednesday and just got my feedback report now so around 48 hours or so in terms of waiting for feedback.
My strengths were adaptability, credibility and explainer.
My only weakness in the report was learning agility.
I applied to Hogan Lovells just under two weeks ago and did my WGT over a week ago but haven’t yet heard anything as to whether it’s a PFO or AC.
To be fair though today is the deadline day so maybe they are going to start sending out the AC decisions over the next few weeks (since most people...
