I think it depends on which firm is your top choice. If you prefer the firm which has already offered you a VS, I think it would be better to sign their VS offer sooner rather than later. If your top choice is the firm you haven’t heard back from yet post AC, I think it’s best to sign the VS...
I don’t think you should assume a firm ‘doesn’t want you’. This whole process is super competitive, with some firms having just a 0.5% chance of securing a TC! Just because Baker McKenzie rejected you last year, doesn’t mean they will do the same this year. Besides, you wouldn’t know unless you...
I think Baker McKenzie, BCLP, Macfarlanes, and SH don’t have a minimum A-level requirement at all. To be fair, even for firms that do have a minimum A-level requirement of AAB, they will still consider applicants who marginally miss the grades (e.g., ABB-BBB), provided that they meet their...
I received a Paul, Weiss interview invite around mid Feb and had my interview last week. I was told that they were aiming for interviews to be finished by today, with VS offers or post interview PFOs to be sent next week. Quite a few people have had interviews who applied for Summer VS only. I...
Congrats on getting an AC! I think if anything, the fact that you have made it to the AC, shows you have demonstrated a high level of interest and potential to the firm in question. This is despite having ‘no contact with the firm through events or law fairs’. I don’t think a lack of in person...
I think White & Case TC route is non-rolling, so since the deadline is in July, you probably won’t hear back from them until after the deadline has passed (July/August). 🙂
I read somewhere that Orrick has between 12-16 places on their VS. I think they have around 4-6 TC places in total, so it could be they have a very low conversion rate (maybe 25%). If this is the case, perhaps they make 3-4 TC offers from the VS route and 1-2 offers from the DTC route. Orrick...
I know it’s only been like 5 days since the deadline, but has anyone heard from Stephenson Harwood yet for their Spring and/or Summer VS?
Does anyone know from a previous cycle when they usually get back to people post application with test invites?
I had mine fairly recently and it was definitely a bit harder than the Paul, Weiss interview. 🥲
Best of luck to everyone that has done their partner interview and waiting to hear back. 🙂
I think the online test and VI will be separate stages, although I’m not fully sure tbh. Here’s the link to their grad rec website which explains the application process for both VS and DTC:

They began sending interview invites out from 14th Feb (Valentine’s Day) and I believe their interviews will finish at the end of this week. A lot of us have heard back post test (either PFO or interview invite), but there’s also a lot of people who haven’t heard anything at all, so I don’t know...
TCLA have a DTC deadlines thread (see below) and Legal Cheek have a deadlines calendar as well (see below):

Hi Gemma,
I hope you are well. I have a few questions if that is okay. 🙂
1) Am I right in thinking that on the VS itself, there aren’t any further recruitment stages e.g., exit interviews? If so, can I ask why this decision was made?
2) If the above is the case, how does Willkie objectively...
I think it’s been mainly Spring VS and people who put both Spring and Summer. However, I know a few people who applied for Summer VS only who received interview invites. Paul, Weiss might have more interviews to send out for Summer VS tbh. Best of luck to everyone still waiting to hear back from...
I think they said in the automatic email after submitting the application that they would get back to us over March and April with invitations to interview. They don't send out PFO, meaning if you don’t hear from them with an interview, it is safe to assume a PFO.
Best of luck to everyone that...
Yeah I had my interview last week and when I asked them, they said they were aiming to finish interviews by this Friday, with VS offers or post interview PFO’s to be sent around then onwards. I guess we will all find out this week or next week. They might prioritise those that applied for Spring...
I think Gemma said people would hear back 5 working days after the partner interview, but that there could possibly be delays. The very latest that we would all hear back is the 10th of March (next Monday). Best of luck to everyone who interviewed at Willkie.
