and how you can demonstrate confidence, clarity, and genuine motivation throughout an assessment centre.
Im a future trainee at A&O so I’ll try and explain :
The first part of the interview is the case study. they effectively bombard you with a book of material and you’ve got to synthesise that info and then present back to a Partner for about 10 mins and then you take 45-50 mins of questions...
The A&O equivalent of the Linklaters mindset as mentioned above would be their 4 agilities- worth looking into as they’ll help to craft your application and will inform your answers on the SJT
Like what Jessica said, the SJT can't really be prepared for. If you have an idea of the competencies A&O are looking for, these would be helpful to have by your side but to the greatest extent the SJT is something intuitive.
Passing the application review will either consist of a rejection or AC invite- if you applied for a winter vac or 2022 TC you're likely to hear back in the next couple of weeks or so. If you applied for a summer vac, you'll be waiting a little longer.
This is a great thread- would love to read others' experiences with how they've coped with moving across the country to support themselves through a sponsored LPC and beyond!
If you're asking in relation to what A&O look for in their trainees, this is briefly detailed on their graduate website, but if you scroll through their podcast and social media, they do touch on some key characteristics they like to see.
