The actual certificates won't have been emailed anywhere as they are physical hard copies.
Your school would have received them and you would have collected them or they would have posted them to you. I would check whether your school are maybe still holding them if they didn't have an address...
I am not even convinced there will be any reforms. The view from the SRA seems to be they think none is needed.
I think of more interest to students of the SQE would be the release of the pass rates by prep course provider which had been promised but not yet materialised. It would definitely...
As you are clearly doing alright in the process I think it is just a case of plugging away. I did about 11 before getting a vac scheme but successfully converted my first vac scheme. 2 of those ACs indicated on feedback I was literally the next on the list. The others gave positive feedback...
I agree about taking it ASAP after the prep course in order to maximise chances of passing. Also on the off-chance you don't secure a training contract you can still get qwe (qualifying work experience) in paralegal roles and it takes you closer to qualification if you end up self funding SQE2.
Not a strategy as such but just dedicating time to applications as though it was a full time job. I basically made a spreadsheet and ensured I knew submission deadlines and didn't miss them. I would make a list of the ones I would apply to that week. I won't say how many I applied to over...
I would probably go to Exeter. Without wishing to seem harsh unless you are in a deprived area at a poorly performing school your grades aren't exceptional. Whilst I would never discourage someone from following their Oxbridge dream if that is what they want to do I would urge you only do so...
Hi Deya
I am another one who spent a year after graduating treating applications as a full time job and working in hospitality. I am a non law graduate and secured a TC with a US law firm and am about to start my (sponsored) PGDL and SQE studies.
It can be done. Good luck in your journey...
I mentioned one I had done on an application form and another completely different firm I applied to asked me about it and clearly knew what the tasks were (obviously couldn't access my answers) but did ask me about how I approached something as a non law student!
You won't be eligible for many (if any) vac schemes or direct training contracts as a first year student. You should look at open days or spring weeks with firms which could be referred to in later applications to such schemes/direct applications.
@Ram Sabaratnam Wishing you all the best for your training contract. I have appreciated your posts of help and encouragement which in part will lead to you being NQ as I start mine! Thanks for all your pearls of wisdom!
I would definitely call and speak directly with the early recruitment team for each firm you are applying to.
Ps. it would not be counterintuitive to be considered alongside non-law grads as around 50% trainees and solicitors are non-law grads. They count you as such because they would expect...
As a non law graduate who secured a TC this cycle with a US firm the only time I mentioned my degree (history) was to mention how it developed my critical thinking, analytical skills and ability to write clearly and concisely.
Use any other experiences or supra curricular to show your...
