I think there are a handful of firms that are solely application and interviews (no test stages):
Covington & Burling
Davis Polk & Wardwell
Debevoise & Plimpton
Dechert
Goodwin
Jones Day
Kirkland & Ellis
Morrison Foerster
Paul Hastings
Sidley Austin
Skadden
Slaughter and May
Travers Smith...
Idk if this applies to the VS/TC for sure but I only got an ABB-BBB in my A-levels and they offered me a place on their in person open day. I asked if I could apply to their VS/TC and they said that it would be perfectly fine to apply. I would point to the fact I flag as contextual and I had...
Willkie’s app doesn’t give an option to add GCSE grades but when you add your school, the GCSE grades pull through automatically somehow. I think it probably gets the GCSE grades from our vantage profiles, so I would check that to make sure it has all the right grades before submitting!
You could leave it blank or put a rough estimated date as to when your contract will end. Suppose you could also put the current date (Dec 2025), so it signals you are still working there.
I think I discussed 4, 3 positions of responsibility and 1 achievement. Don’t think you’d need to hit the full word count for it. Depends on the amount of detail you go into for each I guess.

1: what motivates you to pursue a career as a commercial solicitor, and why do you see Akin as the right place to begin that journey?
2: what are you looking for in your legal...
The ones that I always struggle with are Perkins Coie and Debevoise. I was under the impression Debevoise had a French pronunciation lmao. The ending actually just rhymes with noise.
This account used to belong to someone else on the forum, as you have identified. His username was Chris Brown. I started using this forum in September. He gave me this account to use for this cycle, as he was no longer using it. :)
Speaking of Willkie, has anyone heard back from them recently post app? The website says we can expect to hear back within 10-15 working days, but it’s been more than that now so idk whether to assume it’s a PFO.
Same here matey. At least it will all be worth it in the end when we finally get that ‘yes’, knowing it was through our hard work and determination that we got through this process. :)
100 entries is insane! Sounds like a tough course you did for your undergraduate! Seems like they are still going through applications submitted at the start of their window. Tbf I think they expect a ‘good’ 2:1 which I assume means 65% or more but I have heard that they only interview people...
Jheeze why do they take so long to respond? I thought they reviewed on a rolling basis? I applied a few weeks ago so I most likely won’t hear back until after the new year it seems. They did ask for my degree transcript last week but nothing else since then. 🤷🏾♂️
