    AS Commercial Awareness Competition 20/21

Just going off last year, there were slots for each day of the week. Also, we had over a week to prepare. This is especially important given that the format of the quarter finals involves being tested on a list of specific topics e.g tech, retail, legal etc, so entrants needed time to prepare...

Nothing yet, I wonder what the wait is for when they clearly know who will be progressing? Perhaps they’re trying to reduce the amount of preparation time for the quarter finals

At the bottom where it asks to let them know if you can’t attend as it is oversubscribed. I assume, given the virtual nature of the open day, they may have let more people on than usual though!

    CAC 2021

I’ve participated the last two years, both times being eliminated in the quarter finals. Definitely worth knowing the big topics that are relevant at the moment pretty well. For example, I remember them asking something along the lines of ‘in X month, what did Donald Trump impose tariffs on?’.

How long did it take you to hear back from the Immersive Online Assessment? Their website suggests it takes a few days to find out if you passed or not, then two weeks or so if they decide to progress your application, whereas I got an immediate rejection the moment I refreshed the page!

Oh wow I really can’t read today ahah, I didn’t see you say about legalisation - my bad. I think that’s a great topic and even though it’s ‘controversial’ I think the idea of legalisation is actually a lot more logical so there’s definitely a solid argument to be had. Best of luck!

As someone who is interested in this, here’s a few points I would consider. 1) Drugs are already illegal. To what extent is your idea ‘introducing a new law’. 2) Legislative prohibition has never worked. From Alcohol in 1920s America, to governments literally murdering drug users/dealers, when...

Growing concerns about a career in Law

Anecdotal of course, but I know of someone who got a 2.2 at a lesser known university, worked at various firms, and is now a partner at a top commercial firm. Admittedly now, the graduate market is saturated with 1st/2.1s. But the point still stands. It is certainly possible to work at a...

Would rather they had just left it! Just want closure now so I can forget about it as opposed to checking my emails every half an hour
