If anyone can provide insight into Weil VI, I'm happy to help with Milbank test 1-2, Freshfields test 1-2, Latham test 1-2, w&c vi, Dechert written, Gibson dunn interview, willkie vi and a few more!
Can anyone clarify what is meant when firms say this (in the context of their online tests): "This assessment is untimed, however, please try to work through it as quickly as possible."
Does this mean the time we take to answer a question impacts the score we get? If not, I don't understand why...
If it’s clarity you’re after, I’m afraid we’re all stepping through the same foggy tide of vacation scheme and training contract applications, where clarity truly is a rare current. Many of us, if not all, have asked ourselves “wtf are firms looking for?” Yet, I hope 2 things should, ironically...
Update
A lot as happened since I last posted on this thread. So, below is a list on developments:
Dechert WVS - Still waiting post WE
W&C WVS - Invited and completed VI - I actually think it went quite well, so really hoping for an AC
Willkie Spring VS - Invited to WE post-VI! I'm super happy...
Non-rolling in the sense that they don’t give out any offers until after the deadline passes. Also, the written exercise will be done after the deadline. But, they do screen applications as they come in and they do invite people to video interview before the deadline.
Just applied to Weil. No work experience section / no additional questions section. Is it supposed to be that way? Their website states they’ll ask both a motivation and commercial question in the application form…
Dechert Written Exercise completed!!!
My goodness, that was intense. It took me about 3 minutes to actually find the brief/question, so not the best of starts. But, I managed to find my feet around the 3-4 minute mark. There wasn't too much law to digest, and the brief was relatively...
Have White & Case introduced an online assessment this year? I don't remember having to do one last cycle... maybe i'm misremembering. If they have, that's yet another firm moving towards online tests.
I think it’s a matter of the type of work you would be doing as a trainee and associate at these firms. You’re essentially exposed to the largest deals and work for the world’s largest corporations. Although the hours would be intense, I imagine the training you receive is unparalleled...
I thought, as many others do, to start this thread as a way to keep myself accountable. I certainly haven't done it due to being unemployed and bored...
My background: I just graduated from a good RG (Durham, KCL, Warwick) with a law degree. I finished strong in my final year with a very high...
Dechert are indeed rolling, however, this is only revealed upon starting their application process: "We recruit on a rolling basis and make offers to successful candidates before the final application deadlines, so we encourage candidates to apply as early as possible to avoid disappointment."
Just to clarify, for everyone that has done the CRS vi for their placement (vac) scheme, is the next stage the scheme itself? I thought we would have to do an AC but from their website it looks like that’s only for direct TC applicants. Instead, vac schemers do it during the vs.
