It doesn't have to be a deal as such, it could be advisory or contentious work too.
I'd try to link it to the work that the firm would be doing - that could be linked to a general update/trend in the market, but I think it needs a clear tie to the work the firm does for it to work.

For those of you interested in the webinar, you can access the following part of the TCLA course for free. It is a really useful resource if you want to learn more about mental health resilience whilst pursuing or working in a career in law...
The reference request will state who the reference is on behalf of even if it is via an outsourced company.
They have to state it to ensure that information can be shared with the organisation.
Hi @KHCR - welcome to the forums!
You would be entitled to get another student visa whilst studying the PGDL, so you wouldn't have to worry about returning to India if you did go on to study a recognised course.
You may also be entitled to stay in the UK on a graduate visa or high potential...
I would raise this with the firm during your vacation scheme - one to speak to Graduate Recruitment about. Its really hard for me to say what their preferences would be where we are so early into the SQE.
They will need to contact everyone in a set period.
They can't pick and choose - this is about verifying all the information you provided on your application form.
You only need to check what will be on your reference if there has been problems with working there (e.g. you are...
You can always check spam folders if that is the case. I have only been with Flex for a couple of weeks and have been reviewing the applications over the last week, so hoping to contact people very soon.
Hi @Limanehious - I am working with Flex Legal and will be conducting the first-round interviews. You may hear from me very soon (next day or two) with an update.
Of course - they may not have the information yet but there is absolutely not harm in asking and you can explain it is to help you plan where you move to and what kind of rental agreement you get into.
Yes, you will need to complete any employment too during this time.
You should also include anything that was on your original application. It likely to be flagged up if anything you put in the employment section of your application form is then not submitted in the Vero form.
I don't think it has to say "why London" - that might be obvious with some international students who have lived/worked/studied in the city previously.
However, for those with no connections to London, I think this is an opportunity to explain why London as well as why you want to work in an...
I would focus on the job of a junior lawyer - whether that be a trainee or NQ. You can also talk about the long term aspects of the career too, but it definitely needs balance and therefore you need to cover why your happy doing the job(s) that will get you to partner 10-15 years down the line.
It can be either or (or neither) in all honesty. It really depends on the firms in question and also how you explain things. You are rarely just asked where else you have applied to for the sake of getting names - it is much more about getting the rationale of why you have chosen those firms.
I would focus on a sector/industry - it may mean that industry has more of a practice focus, but this is not asking you to indentify practice areas, it is asking you to identify trends in that sector (not specifically the legal work needed for that trend).
I would definitely avoid it being firm specific. It is asking you to explain why you want to do the job in general. You still may want to tailor it though - a firm that focuses on transactional work is likely to have a slightly different emphasis than a firm that focuses on contentious work.
