    Retrospective Funding

White & Case will reimburse on a 'sliding scale' based on how many years ago you did the LPC. I have no clue what % this is though. Source: grad recruitment at an assessment centre.

    Linklaters 2019/20 Application

It's hard to tell from this thread, but it seems like the people hearing back are those who applied for the spring scheme or direct (which would make sense tbf)

Hearing Back from Law Firms, Assessment Centres & Interview Tips - 2019 - 2020

Has anyone heard back regarding the linklaters summer vac scheme? Seen lots of people hearing replies for direct tc and spring, but not much about summer?

Hearing Back from Law Firms, Assessment Centres & Interview Tips - 2019 - 2020

I'd say most firms use Apply4Law - but I don't think its the system's fault, just a glitch from Mayer Brown's side I think. Got a message from another member yesterday who experienced the same thing as me so I don't know if its an isolated incident

Hearing Back from Law Firms, Assessment Centres & Interview Tips - 2019 - 2020

Just a quick message to everyone who applied to Mayer Brown: the system they use for sending invitations isn't good at all. I got through to the test stage but did not receive an email (neither in spam nor my inbox, nor did an invitation it come up in the Correspondences section of Apply4Law)...

    VRT Tips?

Just do tons of practice. I used to be terrible at these tests, and would never pass. However, now I routinely get in the 85% + percentile. I attribute this to practice (and alot of it!) because I definitely did not have any natural ability in them! So just keep practicing, and you will...

    Phone Interview

There are two types of phone interviews I've experienced. 1. Literally just a standard interview. Just prepare as you would a standard interview, and keep some notes out in front of you. However, grad recruitment are aware of this so they try and ask questions which you wouldn't have prepared...

Hearing Back from Law Firms, Assessment Centres & Interview Tips - 2019 - 2020

When did you hear back? I'm still waiting :/ i did the VI last year and flopped it, but the questions were very standard off memory. Why commercial law, why Weil and something in the news. I can't remember if there were others as it was so long ago, but make sure you have solid answers for...

    Linklaters 2019/20 Application

that's so strange - i got 38/40 and was in the 89th percentile? makes no sense

How to jump back from rejection?

I'm in the exactly the same boat; having failed at the last hurdle for two direct TC's and 1 VS. One of the TC's was for White & Case; which I believe is one of the longest application processes for any law firm (4 sets of interviews). That day I got the rejection email was one of the worst I...

How to get a paralegal role

So I'm doing my LPC and unfortunately don't have a training contract lined up (). So this means I'll (and lots of others) will have a two year gap before a tc commences. However, there doesn't seem to be any clear information on how to get a paralegal job. So I was wondering if someone could...

How to write a client memo

Alot of people are having/going to have assessment centres. Whilst it's not really possible to prepare for the written exercises, it seems a lot of them involve writing a client memo. I was wondering what is the best way to structure a client memo? I'm still slightly confused as to what the...

    Training Contract Applications

So it wasn't a conversation; the grad recruitment person had a list of questions and she literally just went through them. They were really generic questions, so prepare lots of answers on those basic questions and let your skills and understanding shine
