Really happy for you! It's been such a tough road and you've continued helping other people along the way it's really hard to think of anyone more deserving!
Dechert and Akin Gump rejections this morning, got Links rejection last Friday afternoon too :D
Just thought I'd ask if this seems like a generic rejection from Akin Gump as I applied on the deadline (e.g. I know Daniel had his AC before the application deadline) and it suggests they would look...
I'm not sure if it's the same for London, but when I attended an insight evening at Dentons in Glasgow, grad rec told me that they do not review direct TC applications on a rolling basis
I'd gone the entire week hearing nothing only for it to end on a Friday 5pm rejection email from Ropes & Gray post-application. Meanwhile still waiting on Linklaters, Debevoise, CMS, Freshfields, Sidley, HL, Akin Gump, Dechert, Mayer Brown, Milbank.
Did you subscribe to Finimize Premium? I've had the app for ages but I've not explored their packs at all as I've been rather busy and getting by with FT articles and Daily Briefing so far
They've suggested 45 mins for the SST and 50 mins for the VRT, I think I spent total about 1 hour 15 minutes?
I didn't really prepare for it, the SST is the same as any other and I just treated the VRT like the LNAT, essentially a comprehension and critical thinking test.
Based on what Jessica's previously said about first-stage screening, TW's website, and the lack of even a test invite suggests that I failed on academics. I've had mitigating circumstances at uni in 1st and 2nd year but my uni only classifies degrees based on 3rd and 4th years so I'm still on...
I called them since they never responded to my emails and I said I hadn't heard back at all since I applied and I had heard they were doing ACs already then an hour later I got a rejection email. I didn't even get to speak with graduate recruitment, it was someone else who had answered the phone
On the deadline day, I'm not too bummed by this one cos in terms of practice areas Ashurst just didn't feel right to me (probably cos the areas I like got shadowed by the strengths of the merger partner)
